Web 2.0 Marketing Tip #13: Post Comments To Other Blogs To Promote Your Internet Business

By Ralf Skirr.

Many marketers believe that the only way to get traffic to a blog is to post frequently, ping, and optimize for natural search engine traffic. Well, those methods are actually useful and can get search engines’ attention.

However, there is one great way to generate massive traffic for your blog without doing any of those!

Yes, there is actually a strategy like that, and that approach I’m talking about is simple: Get direct traffic from other blogs by commenting frequently!

Blog Commenting: Secret to Massive Traffic

Commenting on other blogs is a surefire way to get more traffic that cuts all the need for keyword and data research as well as article writing. But of course, it’s important to understand that when I say “comment frequently,” I don’t mean spam other people’s blogs with irrelevant information. Rather, I simply mean that you should look for relevant posts in niche blogs and then make a useful, intelligent comment that links back to your blog. Don’t just randomly comment; it will make you look bad and desperate.

By providing useful information, you can easily attract both customers and potential partners without appearing as if you are directly after more profits. Well, you are, but it’s best to do it discreetly. Besides, if you spend a lot of time making useful comments, there’s a good chance you’ll re-direct some of the traffic that lands on the big name blogs to your own. You can then pass this traffic through your sales funnel.

This way, you may also get the attention of other blog owners. Don’t overdo it, though; don’t start commenting on the same blog again and again just to connect the owner. It might be tempting to mass comment on some guru’s blog, but they’ve seen it all before and might already be aware of most of the things you share–mass commenting is something they don’t like it, and they might block you if you do it.

So, if you are going to do blog commenting as one of your primary web traffic generators, this must be your overall guideline: “Is my comment a good contribution to the given blog post?” If yes, then go on, hit the “Submit” button, and let traffic come to your own blog or website.
