Twitter has become such a popular and powerful marketing platform, thanks to it being home to millions of members. In Web 2.0 Marketing Tip # 55, we discussed how Twitter can be a great medium for promoting your new products. However, that is not the only thing you can do with this great network. With Twitter, you can also easily promote a firesale you are holding.
What is a firesale? A firesale means bundling several of your products together and offering them for a price significantly lower than what the products would usually cost.
When it comes to achieving success with a firesale, here is something you must remember: You must set a time limit for your firesale, the shorter the better.
Of course, for a lot of people to participate in your firesale, you’ll have to promote it. Here is where Twitter comes in. Here is what you have to do:
- Let your followers know you’re having a short-time steep discount.
- Tweet reminders of the firesale each day of the firesale.
- Thank everyone who participated and, if you would like to, ask for feedbacks.
A firesale, if attractive enough, can put quite a few new customers on your list. While the initial firesale may not give you the biggest profits due to low price, you can then continue to market and upsell to your list of customers.
