Discover What Google is Hiding from You
With Google+ continuously rising to popularity, people just have to wonder what kind of people are behind this ever-growing company. So, what kind of personalities, habits, and responsibilities do you think the men behind Google have?
Danny Sullivan, the editor-in-chief of Search Engine Land, helps us discover the answer by holding an interview session with 3 big shots of Google, namely, Amit Singhal, Ben Gomes, and Matt Cutts.
These 3 men are authorities as they control and monitor particular areas of the Google search engine that directly relates to users’ queries. Amit Singhal is the master of algorithm; he’s the one who sorts the sites and figure out which should and should not be presented to users for specific queries. Ben Gomes takes hold of the look of Google. That is, he plans how the Google search engine looks like and what features should be added on it. Last, there is Matt Cutts who generally takes out spam and keeps the search results clean and orderly.
The interview covers a lot of topics such as the following:
- How Google decides what to rank and which to mark as spam
- Google’s opinion on the claim that it is keeping rivals from search results
- What Google thinks of social media, now that it has launched Google+
- What factors Google base on to measure a site’s relevance to a query
But of course, I don’t want to spoil it by giving you all the details. So why don’t you take out some time and watch this Google interview?
